Instead it recommends that its people attend highly-expensive seminars all around the world for their “wealth education”. They charge thousands of dollars for people to join in order to have the privilege of being offered access to so-called wealth gurus.

People have lost tens of thousands of dollars from becoming involved in nefarious schemes of this kind, on the promise of making hundreds of thousands from others silly enough to also buy in.

The point is that this information is already available incredibly cheaply by comparison, just by engaging the services of your highly-qualified accountant or licensed business adviser, by joining very inexpensive study programs, or by self study utilising cheap and readily-accessible resources.

Work from Home Australia – Understanding that Most Scientific Claims are 100% Bogus

My favourite bogus product that swept the world and conned many people, including doctors, elite sports people and sports trainers, was the Lifewave energy band. What a joke that was! Worn on the wrist, it claimed to increase strength, energy and endurance and that it was an anti-aging device.

How embarrassing that independent studies showed it was completely and utterly useless – just a bit of plastic that did nothing whatsoever.

The problem was that the developer (who falsely claimed to be a doctor and a scientist) said that scientific tests showed it to be effective and that the device had been patented.

I took the time to track down and read the “scientific study” and was horrified. It was done by scientists who I couldn’t find, in a university I could likewise not find.

I saw a letter from the patents office rejecting the patent and demanding that the company cease making claims for it.

In investigating this “science based” company further I saw that there were only 2 qualified people on staff, one of them a medical doctor currently being investigated for distribution of controlled substances, and the other a chiropractor whose only association with a university was as a track coach.

I actually had a colleague taken in by the that one and attempted to show him the evidence of fraud. He flatly refused to believe me, so emotionally invested was he in making money from this sham.

The big problem here for people wanting to work from home in Australia (or anywhere) is that people (even medical doctors) are not trained how to discern valid research from nonsensical research. As an ex clinical researcher I don’t have that problem, and I also fully appreciate the complexity of assessing for validity if you’re not scientifically trained.

A quick way for you to check is to just google the product name with “scam” alongside, and also google “has anyone used product X”.

In the former you’ll first see fake scam sites where they’re just trying to hook you in to buying. Their method is basically to ask whether a certain product is a scam, and then try to convince you that it’s not, and to buy from them. Keep looking and in most cases you’ll see an objective site absolutely crucifying it.

In the latter, “has anyone used” you’ll find forums where people are discussing whether or not the product has been useful. Many of the entries are commercial entries trying to trick people into believing that it works, but there will also be lots saying that the product made no difference. Oftentimes you’ll also see people complaining about not being able to get money back on guarantees, or other problems with the company.

• Does the supplier provide ongoing training and support for the product or service? If you have to do that then you’d be tying yourself to a job instead of to building a business!
• Likewise does the supplier take responsibility for product/service fulfilment, so that you’re not having to run around delivering goods or services?
